Meet the Executive Chef of Taste My Taco food truck
Chef Debin Bell is a Chicago native with a professional culinary career spanning fifteen plus years. Before any professional training, Debin spent hours studying her grandmother’s cooking techniques and love of food. While attending culinary school at the Art Institute of Chicago, Debin started catering with Chicago Tailgators, a well-known local Jewish company.

After graduating in 2015, Debin became an entry level cook at the Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg, IL, later being promoted to the fine dining restaurant, Sam and Harry’s Steakhouse. In 2017, Debin took a leap and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she was employed at various Marriott properties, such as the Marriott Marquis, the Atlanta Airport Marriott and St. Regis to name a few. It wasn’t until 2022 that Debin decided to take another leap to pursue her dream of opening her food truck by the name of Taste My Taco.

Debin likes to attribute her cooking style to her life experiences, which means constantly refining her repertoire by finding inspiration in her surroundings. African American, Latin, Caribbean, and various cultural and religious influences helped Debin expand her skill set, palate, and understanding of food and people. A quote Debin often refers to is: “a cook has a specialty, but a chef can do it all.” Using this as a daily mantra is what drives her passion to learn and create new dishes. In her free time, Debin enjoys cooking for her family and friends, hikes with her dog, hiking and camping trips with friends.
